25 TREES SUCCESSFULLY TRANSPLANTED ON TRIMBAK ROAD

DLF-Tree-TransplantationIn the vigor of saving the environment, the public works department has transplanted 25 trees on the Nashik- Trimbak road. Out of the total 1300 trees that were supposed to be transplanted, prior to the expansion of the 22.5 km road, 100 were initially processed for re-plantation. Depending on the condition and age of the tress, 88 were proved to be safely processed. Within 8 days the rest 63 tress will be re-planted.

The PWD engineer S P Aher said, “We have divided the road into three stretches – in the first stretch from Ganpatwadi to Brahma Valley, 10 trees are to be transplanted; in the second stretch from Brahma Valley to Talegaon Phata, 30 trees; and in the stretch from Talegaon Phata to corporation limit, 48 trees are to be transplanted.”

The work kicked off from 21st August, 2013 under the guidance of Hussain Virdewala, tree transplantation specialist. On Relocate-and-Transplant-an-Oak-Tree-4965August 21, 27, 28 and 29 the number of trees successfully transplanted were 2, 5, 8 and 10 respectively. Mr. Vijay Hake, executive engineer of the PWD announced that the other trees will follow the procedure of transplantation within 8 days.

The four-lane road which is to be constructed before the Kumbh Mela, 2015, the PWD would try to protect as many trees as possible to allow the city not only with the best of infrastructures but also an environment friendly zone.
