HIV positive women celebrate Women’s Day in Nashik

d30609-largeMahindra & Mahindra, Nashik in association with Yash Foundation organised a ‘Mahila Meleva’ for HIV positive women at Nashik. Around 100 positive women attended the event which was held on Saturday on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2014.
Activities and interactions at the event were planned with an aim to increase the self-esteem among these women who physical as well as psychological issues apart from stigma and discrimination by their family and society this event interactions were planned.
Through group discussions, the women were made to realize the contribution made by them in their day-to-day life for the betterment of their spouses, children and other family members. Emphasis was laid on the need for asserting skills in their children to develop as young and responsible adults for creating a society free from gender biases.
Dignitaries who attended the event include NMC’s Pratibha More, Namdeo Yelmame and Manoj Nikam from Mahindra & Mahindra and Ravindra Patil from Yash Foundation. The programme was anchored by Jyoti Saxena and vote of thanks was given by Pushpa.
