Staying happy is something everyone want, this is one thing I am really pretty much sure that every person must have thought of it and tried finding answer of it.

Today I was listing to NPR (National Public Radio) and found this great radio clip which looked into this topic by talking to different  TED speaker and bunch of scientist around the globe to understand happiness.  below is the radio clip of that talk , Which I thought of sharing with Nashikar :

  • Is there a secret to happiness ?

Remember that you deserve to be happy. It’s your natural-born right.

  • You stay happy when you stay in the moment.

When are humans most happy? To answer this question, researcher Matt Killingsworth built an app, Track Your Happiness, that let people report their feelings in real time. Among the results: We’re often happiest when we’re lost in the moment.

  • Slow down when you want to be happy.

We’re hurrying through our lives, instead of actually living them; that we’re living the fast life, instead of the good life.

  • Less means more.

Can having less stuff, in less room, lead to more happiness? Writer Graham Hill makes the case for taking up less space

  • How Does Misfortune Affect Long-Term Happiness?

We’re doomed to be miserable if we don’t get what we want — right? Not quite, says psychologist Dan Gilbert. He says our “psychological immune system” lets us feel truly happy even when things don’t go as planned.
