Election notification for Nashik to be issued on March 29
Election Notification for the Nashik and Dindori Lok Sabha (LS) constituencies in district will be issued on March 29 from when the aspirants could file their nominations, said district collector Vilas Patil. On the backdrop of the announcement of the election scheduled by the Election Commission (EC) Patil interacted with media persons today. Soon after the announcement of the schedule, the model code of conduct came into force. Consequently, the public representatives have returned their vehicles. Besides, the process of removing hoardings from all over the town was also started. Today on the directives of the EC Patil conducted a meeting with the leaders of all political parties in district. In this meeting, the collector informed them about the precautions to be taken, about the expenditures, permissions for the public rallies. He also briefed the leaders about the measures taken by the district administration. Patil further said that on Thursday he would organize a meeting with the police and revenue department officials in which the officials would review the proper enforcement of model code of conduct in district. He said that there would be ban on using social media for canvassing, and while filing their nominations the candidates will have to submit information about the use of such media. On 24th April 2014, voting process in Nashik and Dindori LS constituencies would be completed. From March 29 to April 5, the aspirants could file their nominations while April 7 would be the last date of withdrawing the nominations. On April 9, the applications would be scrutinized and on the same day, the final list of candidates in the fray would be declared. Soon after the enforcement of the code of conduct all the public representatives have been asked to return their vehicles. The inaugurations of development works have also been banned. Additional district collector Bhanudas Palve, Raghunath Gavde, deputy district election officer Gitanjali Baviskar, deputy commissioner of police Sandip Diwan and others were present during the press conference.
