Hotel Happy Times (Food Review)- Dec 2012

Hotel Happy Times Nashik (formerly known as Wassans Inn) located next to Kalika Mandir at Gadkari Chowk is one of the best in the vicinity. Happy Times is an awesome threesome of amazing food, excellent ambience and great hospitality. The place boasts of lip-smacking Indian and Chinese delicacies for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians.

We decided to munch on some yummy Indian starters and decided to end it on a sweet note. We decided to give the main course a miss this time (just for the food review though). There are a plethora of options for the main course and you will be spoilt for choice. We ordered for assorted non-vegetarian starters which was huge and flavorful. What was served to us looked liked an artistic creation of six assorted kababs.

The visual beauty of the white, red and green colored kebabs itself was an appetizer. Full score for all the varieties served to us. Every kabab tasted distinct and the flavours will stay with you eternally. Fragrant and aromatic and delicious is what comes to ones mind as you have a melt-in-your-mouth experience with the yummy platter.

The assortment consisted of six items. The chicken pahadi kabab...the name rightly conjures up an image of a beautiful green in one’s mind. The kabab is cooked using a base of coriander and mint leaves. The malai tikka is a cream and cheese experience and leaves a very dreamy flavour in your mouth. The Chicken Tikka is like the other two kababs but is marinated in a red spicy sauce. The tandoori kabab comprises of the chicken breast while the tangdi kabab is primarily the leg piece of the chicken. The tandoori kabab gives you a hassle free tandoori experience, (if you are not looking at eating the whole chunks which are big) the small chunks can be eaten by fork. The tangdi kabab is marinated in a ginger-garlic sauce and tastes really good. The chicken seekh kabab is a great choice for those who usually do not like the meat seekh kabab.

We signed off with a matka kulfi. The USP is that it is made at the Hotel itself. It is a heavenly experience to dig into this frosting earthen pot as the flavors blossom into your mouth.

It’s a good option to visit this place if you are a big time foodie and it will definitely fetch you some worthwhile delicacies. Try eating at the Zodiac Sky Bar or the Dhabba Express for unique eating experiences.
