The initiative was conducted in association with Yuva Parivartan, an NGO working towards providing livelihoods to underprivileged youth.
Employees of the pharmaceutical giant organised a health camp for the school children and educated them about healthy habits and hygiene. They dedicated an entire day in Shramdaan (voluntary physical labour) for cleaning and beautifying the village, especially the village school. Employees undertook a rally along with the school children to spread awareness about ‘Saving the Girl Child’.
“We at Glenmark believe in the philosophy of ‘Enriching Lives’ and we strive to make a positive difference in lives of the communities where we operate. I am delighted that over a 100 employees of our Nashik plant volunteered their services and valuable time for the benefit of the school children in Sawargaon. We would like to urge more and more people to start volunteering time with social organisations as this is very important for the overall development of society,” said Jalaj Sharma, director & president of operations at Glenmark.
