International Institute of Fashion Designing (INIFD), Nashik has organised a three-day exclusive workshop where famous fashion designer Karishma Sahani and interior designer Wasim Khan are guiding the students. The workshop began on April 25 and will continue till April 27.
Sahani is a graduate from London School of Fashion and has been showcasing her creations at ‘Lakme Fashion Week’ for four successive seasons. She has also been a part of various fashion events and design festivals nationally and internationally.
Wasim Khan is a spatial designer, a former student of National Institute of Designing and director at Lemon Design – a strategic branding and integrated design consultancy. Khan has been a core member of design teams for prestigious projects like Khalsa Heritage Museum and Ahmedabad City Museum.
Khan is guiding students about the basic principles of interior designing which are related to planning and function of the space. In this workshop students will be taught to create a well-planned interior that feels balanced, harmonious and spacious. Sahani is guiding students about the limitations and benefits of using the available material like found objects, textiles, recycled and upcycled material while designing garments. She would be sharing ideas of using alternate and recycled material to create awareness of potential possibilities of mixing alternate with traditional materials.
“This workshop will enrich students in terms of knowledge and will give them a chance to understand their strengths,” mentioned director of INIFD Surjeet Singh Manchanda.
