The Sindhi Community in Nashik celebrated the birth anniversary of lord Jhulelal as Chetichand festival with great enthusiasm. Social events like blood donation camp were also organised on this occasion.
The birth anniversary of lord Jhulelal Maharaj is observed as the first day of New Year in Sindhi community. The Chetichand festival celebration started in the morning at the temple at Kalanagar with Mahapooja. It was followed by a blood donation camp, in which 60 people donated blood.
A religious event Sharda Sharanam was organised in the afternoons. It was followed by gift distribution through a lucky draw system. A musical programme of Sindhi songs was also organised.
A procession of Lord Jhulela was organised from Jail Road to Wasko Chowk on this occasion. Corporator Savita Dalwani, Rajan Dalwani, Naresh Karda, Shankarsheth Devani, Vishal Ubhrani, Ashok Keswani, Deepak Devani, Manohar Jaisinghani, Kanhailal Althakkar and other Sindhi community members took part in the procession.
Celebration at Deolali Camp
Chetichand festival was also celebrated at Poojya Daryashah Sangat Trust’s Jhulelal temple at Deolali Camp. Pooja, Bhajan, Mahaprasad, blood donation camps and other social and religious events were organised during the celebrations. Senior leaders Sheetaldas Balani, Narayandas Chawla, Basant Gurunani, Ratan Chawla, Satish Mevani, Suresh Kadam and others worshiped lord Jhulelal.
