Nashik is proving as the new destination for launch of Marathi plays. Many producers in the Marathi theatre industry, who are concentrated in mega cities, such as Mumbai, Pune and Thane, are launching their new creations in this city.
One among such new dramas is ‘Halke Fulke’— a comedy play produced by Prasad Kambli and directed by Ganesh Pandit. The launch of this play is scheduled at Mahakavi Kalidas auditorium on Sunday.
‘Halke Fulke’, a script written by Hrishikesh Paranjpe, was earlier presented in the year 1999-2000. Vijay Kadam, Nandu Gadgil, Rasika Joshi starrer play was directed by Vijay Patkar. The same play is once again being brought on stage by Prasad Kambli with new star cast. It will also have a touch of modern technology. This time the play is directed by Ganesh Pandit who has got huge recognition for his recently directed play ‘Balak-Palak’.
He has also written a script for a movie ‘Yellow’. A famous comedy duo, Sagar Karande and Bharat Ganeshpure, are in lead roles. A grand rehearsal of the play will take place on Saturday.
Nashik’s Anita Datey, who started her acting career from Nashik through various plays and settled in Mumbai as a movie star, is playing lead role in ‘Halke-Fulke’. Earlier she has acted in ‘Aga Bai’, ‘Kamalach Zali’, ‘Ye Bhau, Doke Nako Khau’, ‘Mahasagar’, ‘Une Pune Shahar’ and other commercial plays. It is very exciting for her to launch a play at her home ground.
