2 ELEVATORS, ESCALATORS FOR NASHIK ROAD RAILWAY STATION
Here is a sigh of relief for all the rail travelers. Nashik road railway station which is within the limits of NMC has been proposed to soon get 2 escalators and 2 elevators. This is basically meant to suffice the needs of senior citizens, children, women and sick people. According to the railway board, 6 stations will have similar amenities including Nashik Road and Manmad junction. Manmad junction is around 100 km from Nashik city.
The execution and budget are being filed by the officials of the rail department. The senior electrical Devdas Datta announced “The Railways is planning to set up escalators and lifts at a few stations in the division, but it is still in planning mode and the time-limit for the same cannot be specified now. The decision of carrying out the works, the quantity and the stations will be taken at the Central Railway headquarters at Mumbai.”
The elevators will be able to carry 20 people at all stations, except Nashik Road as there are space constraints they will be designed to carry up to 13 passengers. “The capacity of lift at Nashik Road will be the same as that of the others however considering the space limitations, it has been decided to limit the size only,” the officials said.
“Nashik is among the six stations in Bhusawal Division of Central Railway hat will get two elevators and two escalators. As such the escalators are being proposed at the foot over-bridge Mumbai-end of the Nashik Road station, while the lifts have been proposed at Bhusawal-end. The designs are being worked on these patterns,” another railway official said.
There are other stations also which will get similar facilities like Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Khandwa and Badnera. The designs and final drawings from the concerned electrical and civil engineers have been asked at the earliest. This project is to take place on a nation-wide scale. These services will help the passengers to cross over the tracks easily.
