The complaints regarding the faulty street lights are now taken on the priority basis to provide concrete solutions. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) takes initiative to improve the electrical works in the city. They also have requested a proposal of Rs.4 crore for the same to conduct the works throughout the city.
For the execution of the plan there will be tender forms available online for the private contractors from 19/09/2013 to 24/09/2013 and the last date for filling being 26/09/2013 till 3pm at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, the NMC headquarters. The forms include 52 different electric works in various parts of the city.
The NMC official of the electric department announced, “We have invited bids for street lights, electric poles, octagonal light poles, installing colorful LED lamps at various gardens of the city, replacing old poles, boxes, cables, wires, shifting poles that are posing as obstacles on roads, shifting electric lines, distribution box, installing water cooler at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan and Indira Gandhi Hospital at Panchavati, installing inverter in the maternity wards/labor room of Indira Gandhi Hospital, installing high masts, lights in the public toilets, underground cables, installing amplifiers or speakers in the garbage collection vans of the NMC and installing signal at Sainathnagar in prabhag 40”. He also added that the major works are supposed to be completed in a period of 90 days whereas the minor works that include replacement or installing will take 30-60 days. The interested parties will have to register themselves online since they are going to float e-tenders.
The supply of proper electricity is the need of the hour and NMC is taking corrective measures to avoid interrupted services.
