A positive update to the previous news published by Page 3 Nashik on 7th August, 2013. The fare for the prepaid auto rickshaw service from Nashik-Road railway station to different destinations has been finalized by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Wednesday and will be inaugurated today, Thursday (31st October). The inauguration ceremony will be conducted by the Police Commissioner, Kulwant Kumar Sarangal and Municipal Commissioner, Sanjay Khandare.
The benefit of these services is, the people who are new in the city would be saved from getting cheated by the auto rickshaw drivers. The passengers will get a receipt at the booth after paying the fare for going to desired location and will have to submit the receipt to the driver once they reach the desired location.
To provide the complete information about the fares decided, Mr. Jayant Patil, Deputy RTO, said “that a flex of about 20 important locations in the city will be put up at the prepaid booth, which will give an idea of the tariff from the Nashik Raod railway station. Besides, the flex will comprise another 100 points giving exact fare to a particular destination”.
As mentioned previously, the responsibility of running the service is already given to Bharat Ratna Magasvargiya Sahakari Grahak Sanstha Panchavati for which they will be paid Rs. 2 per service, irrespective of the distance they travel. To this the Sanstha official, Girish Mohite informed that, nearly 200 auto rickshaw drivers have given a positive feedback about the prepaid service and have registered themselves for the purpose. In order to boost more enrollments for the service, the organization has decided to deliver free insurance cover.
The flex which is to be put up at the prepaid booth, will give the idea for the fare to several locations such as Trimurti Chowk, Maharashtra Colony, Panchavati Karanja, Raviwar Karanja, Lekha Nagar, Nandur Naka, CBS, Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Shalimar, Ashok Stambh, Railway Traction, Government Rest House, Civil Hospital, Ambad and Satpurgaon. There would be a faint difference between the day and the night fare.
With the start of the new prepaid auto rickshaw service, Nashikites can avail fair prices and also the safety for outsiders will be ensured.
