First International Cargo Plan Landed and takes off successfully from Nashik Airport
An Airbus 330 freighter of EgyptAir, An Airbus 330 freighter of EgyptAir, the national airline of Egypt, landed at the Nashik airport and took off with live animal (AVI) cargo on Monday.
The cargo aircraft landed at the airport in Ozar at 1 pm on Monday and left for Sharjah the same day after picking up 50 tonne of live animal.
The aircraft had been hired by Amigo Logistics, a Nashik-based logistic firm.
This was the first time an international cargo flight had used the airport.
This was also the first time an Airbus 330 of Egypt’s national airline had landed at Ozar airport.
Any national airline, before landing anywhere, conducts a thorough inspection.
Monday’s landing and take-off show that the Ozar airport is internationally recognised and has true potential, said Sajid Sayyad, the director of Amigo Logistics.
“We hired this EgyptAir aircraft that has a carrying capacity of 65 tonne. The aircraft departed for Sharjah on Monday evening with a consignment of 55 tonne,” he said.
“We are planning more flights of the Egypt airline from the Ozar airport soon,” he added.
Halcon, a joint venture between the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and Container Corporation of India (Concor), has developed the Inland Container Depot (ICD) and an air cargo complex adjacent to the Ozar airport here. There are facilities like packhouse, cold storages and many others. Moreover, the customs clearance facilities for exports are also being provided there.
The ICD and air cargo complex were inaugurated on March 15, 2008.
Halcon has invested nearly Rs 70 crores to upgrade the existing infrastructure.
