The Nashik Flyover, construction of which began on 4th January, 2010 was completed and its Inauguration was done on 14th June, 2013 by the Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. The 6.1km flyover is a long four lane flyover on NH-3 of Mumbai-Agra Road.
About 172 pillars were required to complete this huge flyover and around 3,500 laborers were engaged to construct it. The flyover connects Pathardi-Phata and Adgoan Naka, and is made at cost of Rs.980 crore. The aim behind the construction of this flyover is to save people’s time and fuel, said Mr.Sharad Pawar.
The big names such as Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr.Prithviraj Chavan, PWD Minister Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, his nephew and NCP MP from Nashik Mr. Sameer Bhujbal, MP Supriya Sule, Union Minister of State for Surface Transport and National Highways Mr. Tushar Chaudhari and others were present on the occasion.
As the city would be hosting the ‘KUMBH MELA’ in 2015, the state government needs to speed up infrastructure work, said Bhujbal.
