As massive infrastructural improvement plans are taking place in an around Nashik, another proposal for developing bathing ghats at various spots downstream of Ramkund was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities. But unfortunately the proposal was opposed by The Ganga-Godavari Purohit Sangh on Saturday. The purpose of the pilgrims visiting Kumbh Mela is to take holy dip into the sacred water and this will turn out to be invalidating if different bathing spots are built in.
The officials say that it will be unbiased for the pilgrims as the sangh, the priests, perform the rituals during the Kumbh Mela ceremony at the Godavari River and the spot segmentation can cause chaos as the visitors would want to be a part of the rituals taking place at one destination only.
The offer was put forth by the Police department, the water resources department along with the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) after conducting a survey where up to 7 bathing ghats on the banks of the Godavari River can be built and can be orderly segmented for the better management of the visitors.
However, if the various bathing spots proposal is not accepted, the concerned management team can figure out some other options to carry out an interrupted and non-chaotic Kumbh Mela 2015 in Nashik.
