So I went ahead and asked him some direct question about his journey :
Q: Before we talk about ‘Vedhalam’, I’d like you to talk about your journey as a Model.
ANIKET CHOUHAN: I am a very Raw person and I never plan things. I consider myself a destiny’s child. It all began in 2006, When I got the opportunity to be a part of Gladrags Mr. India. After that I never turned back. I started working with few biggies like Lakme Fashion Week, Wills Lifestyle and many other reputed companies of glam industry. I started my first solo entity. Kkarma Entertainment in 2009 and since then has been an active part of many shows in different cities of India.
Q: How did you get into Tollywood and How did you land this movie?
ANIKET CHOUHAN: Coming from a Non-filmy background. It wasn’t easy for me to bag a role in Tollywood. Things weren’t offered to me on a platter. I had to go through my round of struggle in Bollywood before I finally got a concrete offer in the form of Vedhalam. One of my co-ordinator was looking for someone who could play the negative character. He propped me to give it a try. So I did a photo shoot and sent my photographs. I got a call for Audition from a Casting Director and finally got selected after multiple auditions including Screenshot and Look Test. I feel this movie was destined for me.
Q: Tell us about ‘Vedhalam’.
ANIKET CHOUHAN: ‘Vedhalam’ is a big budget Tamil Action Film directed by Siruthai Siva starring Ajith Kumar, Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Iyer and Rahul Dev. The film was earlier known as Thala 56 as we have Ajith Sir in a lead role. He is known as Thala in Tollywood and it is his 56th movie. But later on it received an official title as ‘Vedhalam’. The title ‘Vedhalam’ has been adopted from the famous Indian tale ‘Vikramaditya Vethalam’. The story of the film revolves around a protective brother which is played by Ajith Sir and his only sister. Three Gangster brothers spoil her life and successfully manage to flee to abroad. Story gets switched when brother (Ajith Sir) immerses himself in seeking revenge on the Culprits.
Q: Can you elaborate on your role in ‘Vedhalam’.
ANIKET CHOUHAN: My role is of Heavy Metal Gangster who is one of the Culprit among the three. Always high on drugs and alcohol. I do play a Negative character and once I took it on, I gave it all my effort. My Tone and Appearance are completely different than what I am in real life. As it is a Tamil flick, Language has never been a barrier for me. The crew helped me in the best way they can.
Q: So you are playing a Villian, Any particular expression you would like to share with our followers.
ANIKET CHOUHAN: (Laughs) Well, that will be a surprise for the viewers.
Q: How was it to share the screen with Superstar Ajith Kumar?
ANIKET CHOUHAN: It was a wonderful experience working with Ajith sir and learning from just being around him. When you have phenomenal actor like Ajith sir in your vicinity as your co-star, then it becomes a cherry on the cake. He is very humble and supportive. I remember the day when his schedule was over and still he spent three hours with me sharing his experiences. He has an amazing perception of the world. I’ve learnt so much from him.
Q: How was it working with South Indian Crew?
ANIKET CHOUHAN: It was superb. People from south india are sensitive and humble. They are extremely Workoholic and are very punctual. They work around 15 to 18 Hours. Being professional, They are very much focused towards their goal.
Q: You’ve been to different locations during the shoot, How was your experience travelling to different destinations?
ANIKET CHOUHAN: It was amazing. I always wanted to explore new places, visualize different cultures, Taste new cusines. Now I feel blessed that because of my profession. I got a chance to witness everything. Our first schedule was in Chennai then we headed to Italy for around 10 days. No wonder Italy is a Bel Paese (the beautiful country). People are very down to earth and supportive. Climate was very hot. We shot in Yard. I was feeling like a King surrounded by guards. I was living my dream.
Q: Being born and brought up in Nashik, I’m sure it is very close to your heart. Which is the area in Nashik, where you would like to Hangout?
ANIKET CHOUHAN: Nashik is extremely very close to my heart. I consider it fortunate to be born in Nashik as it is also the birthplace of Indian Cinema. From schooling to College, I have beautiful memories of Nashik. I have two favourite hangouts in Nashik. One is Sula And the other one is Backwaters .But it all depends on the mood and the company.
Q: What advice would you give your city people who are aspiring Actors?
