Nashik is one of the fastest growing cities of Maharashtra. The spending power of people too has increased which has translated into every household owning a vehicle of their own. With the number of vehicles increasing every passing day and the city’s infrastructure is incapable of accommodating the increasing amount of vehicles. This has resulted in the vicious circle of parking crisis which the citizens are now posed with. Earlier only the older parts of the city like Panchavati, Raviwar Karanja, Main Road, Bhadrakali and even parts of Nashik Road faced serious parking crisis. But now finding a pace to park our vehicle has become an issue for the relatively new localities like Gangapur Road, Sharanpur Road, Mahatama Nagar and Cidco.
With finding a decent parking space becoming a herculean task in Nashik, many motorists end up bending all traffic rules and park their vehicles right in the middle of roads adding to traffic woes.
A few weeks back, there was a major decision issued by a senior high court judge in order to cancel the contract of parking in front of the district court and collectorate. The decision came as a rude shock to thousands of people who visit the court for their affairs. They are now left to tend to themselves and not to forget… their dear vehicles too.
