Saaz wins district round of ‘Rock De Phatte’
District-level round of rock band competition titled ‘Rock De Phatte’ concluded in Nashik city recently. The event was held at Paluskar Sabhagriha, Panchvati. This is one of the biggest rock competitions in Maharashtra and Goa and is being jointly organised by Lokmat Yuva NXT and Vibrations Music Academy.
The event was inaugurated with lighting the auspicious lamp by consultant of Trinity College of London Viresh Loni, assistant vice-president of Lokmat BB Chandak, principal of Vibrations Music Academy Kiran Waghmare and his mother Nalini Waghmare.
As many as nine bands from several colleges of the city participated in the competition. All the bands performed various Marathi and Hindi songs with brilliant use of skills like rhythm, harmony, vocals, technique and band dynamic.
Rhythm Rudra band performed ‘Ma Tujhe Salam’ and ‘Teri Deewani’. MH 15 band performed ‘Tik Tik Vajate Dokyat’. Folk Fusion Band performed ‘Jiya Re’ and ‘Saaz’ band performed ‘Sach Keh Raha Hai Jamana’ in the self-composed parody song category. Mystic Musician band performed ‘Bhigi Yaade’ and Golden Eagle Band performed ‘I Have Become So Numb’. Bands like Myriad Rockers and Mittro Band rocked the audiences with their performances.
‘Saaz’ band bagged the first prize in the district round and secured the entry in grand finale which will take place in Mumbai soon. The band will represent Nashik in the grand finale. Bands Mittro and Golden Eagle secured the second and third position respectively.
Winners were awarded cash prizes along with memento and certificate. Sandy Chandrashekhar, Mohit Chandrashekhar and Shaybaj Khan were the judges of the competition.
Meanwhile, child drummer of Rhythm Rudra and, Lavanya Chavan, enthralled the audiences with his performance. Youngsters were present at the event in large numbers.
A tie-breaker round was conducted at the end of the competition by the suggestion of the judges where Saaz performed ‘Khel Mandala’ song in rock music style. The performance was hugely appreciated by the judges and the audience as well. This performance helped the band gain entry to the grand finale.
Students of Vibrations Music Academy, who cleared Trinity Music exam, were felicitated on the occasion.
The event received valuable contribution from Vibrations Music Academy.
