Smita Patil Street Theatre workshop held in the city

d3An acting workshop was held here recently in the city by the Smita Patil Street Theatre (SPST) to provide a platform for artists from Nashik. Several youngsters from the city participated in the workshop and received the opportunity to present the street play ‘Ant’. Registered in Limca Book of Records for four times, it was the 6306th presentation of the play. Youths in city willing to make career in acting will now receive acting lessons in Nashik itself along with opportunity to work in films through the SPST. After Mumbai and Pune, youths from Nashik are now proving themselves in acting career. Since last two-three years, several actors from Nashik have performed well in films and serials. Several other youths from city have proved themselves as a writer, playwright, musician, choreographer and cameraman.

SPST is the reputed institution from Mumbai established by actor and pd380laywright Yousuf Kazmi. It provides proper training to youths interested in making a career in theatre. The workshop was held with the aim to provide proper training for youths residing outside Mumbai.
Upcoming actors presented their skills through the street play ‘Ant’ staged on College Road. The play was based on difficulties occurred in life of an addict. It was the 6303th presentation of this street play. SPST selected the street play ‘Ant’ to deliver a social message with the help of upcoming actors. Inviting SPST at Nashik for acting workshop was Short Feature’s initiative.
