Temples in Nashik crowded on Shani Jayanti

nasik templeDevotees crowded Lord Shani temples in Nashik city and adjoining areas on the auspicious occasion of Shani Jayanti on Wednesday 28th May 2014. Lord Shani temples are there in Bhadrakali Karanja, Shani Chowk in Panchavati, Indiranagar, Deolaligaon, Ravivar Peth and CIDCO areas of the city and all these temples were crowded by devotees since early morning on Wednesday. Various religious programmes were organised in these temples since the wee hours itself. These religious rituals included “Abhyangsnan” of the Lord, “Rudrabhishek”, procession, “Satyanarayan Pooja” and distribution of the “Mahaprasad”. A programme of devotional songs was held in Lord Shani temple in Deolaligaon. The palanquin ceremony of the Lord was organised in Shani Chowk, Panchavati. Palanquin procession was organised from Lord Shani temple in Ravivar Peth area in Nashik. 11kg silver mask of the Lord was taken to Ramkund in procession and a bath was given to it. Later, it was worshipped. At 11.00 am, “Shani Yag” was performed for world peace. In the evening, the “Purnahuti” and the “Janmotsav (birth festival)” worship were performed. A procession of the Lord in a chariot was also organised later on.
