Idea rolls out 4G services in Nashik
India’s third largest telecom operator Idea Cellular on Tuesday rolled out its 4G services in Nashik in a time of 45 days of spectrum allocation by DoT.
The telco said that it has rolled out its network to cover 430 towns in Maharashtra and Goa with a population of 3.3 crore customers.
The telco has acquired a large quantum of spectrum in both FDD and TDD bands to expand its wireless broadband footprint in Maharashtra and Goa while also investing in Optical Fibre Cable in the region, it said in a statement.
Idea’s spectrum portfolio in Mahrashtra region comprises of 900, 1800, 2100, 2300 and 2500 MHz bands. It will be further using TDD bands to expand wireless broadband services in future.
The company already has its 4G services live in Amravati, Aurangabad, Gondia, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Alibagh, Wardha, Jalna, Vasco, Panjim, Margoa etc.

The telco will also be offering complimentary 4G SIM card upgrade in Maharashtra and Goa. Prepaid or Postpaid customers upgrading to 4G SIM will also get promotional 2GB 4G free data, valid upto 10 days and 50 local Idea to Idea minutes valid for 5 days.
The company is offering a range of offers to expand its 4G footprint which includes 4G trial packs starting at Rs 47, 4G handset upgrade offer where user gets 9 GB free 4G data along with 1GB 4G/3G pack, and 1GB at Rs 51 with an upfront payment of Rs 1498.
