The Maharashtra State Amateur Swimmers’ Association, Nashik District Amateur Swimmers’ Association and Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) have jointly organised the state level swimming competition in the city. At the end of third day of the competition, Mumbai district team continued to be the champion by bagging 16 gold medals. On the other hand, Nachiket Buzrook from Nashik set third new record during the competition.
Nachiket completed the 200 meter track with butterfly stroke in just 2 minutes and 20 seconds. This was a new record. Earlier, he has set such records for 50 meter and 100 meter Butterfly category. Meanwhile, Manik Chaturmutha and Siddhi Kotwal from Nashik bagged silver medal in 800 meter Free Style category. Shreyas Virgaonkar bagged a bronze medal.
Mumbai team also continued leading the championship with excellent performance in Diving too. Anuj Shah from Mumbai secured the first rank with 203.75 points in Under-14 High Board Diving category. On the other hand, G Satvik Emmanual from Mumbai and Nihal Gidam from Solapur secured second and third ranks respectively.
Vinay Chandratre, Maya Jagtap, Hari Sonkable, Farooq Shaikh, Avinash Khairnar, Devendra Singh, Sunil Sari, Shankar Madgundi and others took sincere efforts for success of the event under the aegis of Maharashtra association secretary Kishore Vaidya and chief referee Raju Palkar.
