Late Mr. Bal Thackeray, the Hindu Hriday Samraat (Emperor of Hindu hearts) and the Indian politician who founded Shiv sena will be honored with a memorial to pay tribute to the supreme in Nashik.
NMC has shortlisted almost 10 locations in the city for the proposed memorial. These 10 locations include Nashik road, Indira Nagar, Panchvati, Gangapur Road and Cidco. The above list has been handed over to Mayor Yatin Wagh for further approval. Shiv Sena is looking forward to prompt actions on the proposed memorial of their deity.
One of the NMC officials announced the availability of 10 locations in the city but did not precisely mention the plots and areas. Also, the leader of opposition in the house from Shiv Sena, Sudhakar Badgujar informed “Balasaheb Thackeray was the leader of the country and he was our deity. However, the construction of his proposed memorial is being delayed by the ruling MNS. The mayor has forgotten about the proposed memorial, which is a matter of grave concern.”
To construct the memorial a provision of Rs. 3 crore was planned in the budget of the municipal corporation for 2013-2014. Shiv Sena has urged the mayor to opt for quick decisions and announce the place and date of their leader’s memorial in Nashik.
