After the happy farewell of lord Ganesha and the aggressive preparations of Kumbh Mela, the NMC officials have undertaken 49 water-related works around the city. Bids of Rs. 15 crore are invited for the works that will include construction of new tanks, repairing and laying of pipelines. The last declared date of filling the bids is 10th December as the last date and on the same day tenders required for it will be opened.
According to the proposal, 3 new water tanks will be constructed, each having the capacity of 20 lakh liters. One at Dhruvnagar, ward 17-Satpur, at a cost of Rs 3.39 crore, other at Radhakrishnanagar, ward 18-Satpur, at a cost of Rs 2.15 crore and the 3rd at Morvadi, ward 44, Cidco division of the NMC at a cost of Rs 1.72 crore.
Also laying the water pipelines works will be undertaken from Godavari Mangalmurti nagar to Gosavi nagar, ward 32, Nashik Road division. The cost for the same is expected around 52.53 lakh. A similar water pipeline will be laid from Vidyanagar Leelavati Hospital to Omkar and Vadjaimatanagar on Makhmalabad Road, ward 6, Panchavati division for a cost of Rs. 29.52 lakh.
Apart from this, drinking water pipelines are to be constructed in the areas from Sainagar- Rasbihari Road-Shivganga Nagar and Makhmalabad area, ward no. 5. The costs for the same are Rs 1.13 crore and Rs 79.72 lakh respectively.
With the commencement of water works, the water supply scheme will also start and a sump will be constructed in Cidco division, Savtanagar, ward 47 at a cost of Rs 60.3 lakh. NMC with the proper distribution of bids will soon undertake the required steps for making Nashik a better place to live.
